In Mongolia the land is no one’s property and people are wandering with their herds, leading a nomadic life. The main economy branch of this country is a traditional, free range based animal husbandry, such as: horses, sheep, yaks and camels. Pastures and meadows cover over 80% of the land area, arable land - around 1%.
Mongolian steppe, desert and taiga formed special type of mentality, human relations and lifestyle which is unchangeable for centuries. The dominant landscape is a vast plain with omnipresent mountains on the horizon. The feeling of unlimited space is experienced even better through the lack of higher plants (trees). Adding the conditions of harsh, continental climate to it, with cold winter and hot summer there is no wonder that only persistent people could resettle in such unfavorable environment. The temperature in winter drops to -60℃, and in the summer reaches +50℃
